RESUMPTION GUIDELINES
Dear Esteemed Parents/Guardians,
As we prepare to kick start the First term of the 2022/2023 academic session, the College Management has carefully put together the following resumption guidelines for the notification and attention of all parents/guardians.
1. Schedule of Resumption
Parents are to take note that the resumption dates remain Sunday 18th September, 2022 (for all boarders) and Monday 19th September, 2022 (for day students) respectively.
While the students in the Junior Category (JS 1-3) are expected to check into the hostels between 9:00am and 12noon, those in the Senior Category (SS1-3) are all expected to check in between 12noon and 4:00pm.
2. Financial Clearance
It is important to note that payment of school fees is a precondition for accessing the hostels or classrooms as no student will be allowed into either the classrooms or hostels without an evidence of payment.
Parents are hereby enjoined to effect all payments using the designated bank account details as contained in their bill and teller on or before the resumption dates.
Parents who still wish to effect all other kinds of payment (e.g. pocket money, college customized bed spread, notebooks, cardigan, tie, socks, house-wear, etc.) will however be accommodated.
3. Clearance Procedure on Resumption Date
All parents and guardians are to take note that the underlisted procedure are to be sequentially followed as every student checks into the hostels.
i. STEP 1 - Financial Clearance unit: It is mandatory that all parents pick up a copy of the General Clearance Form at the gate upon arrival. For parents with readily generated financial clearance, they are to have it stamped by a designated officer at the point of entry while those without the readily generated financial clearance are to, after picking up a copy of the general clearance form, obtain the financial clearance of their wards at the Administrative Building (Account Office).
ii. STEP 2 - Registration Unit: All parents of boarding students are expected to register the names of their
ward (s) at the point of registration.
iii. STEP 3 - Public Relations Unit: All parents are expected to provide a valid Whatsapp & Call Contacts with the public relations officer for the effective and timely dissemination of information.
iv. STEP 4 - Medical Unit: Parents are to visit the medical stand for all necessary matters that relate to the health status of their ward(s) i.e. dropping of drugs for students on medication, physical fitness check, taking of blood samples for new students, etc.
v. STEP 5 - Exams & Records Unit: All students (new & returning) are to collect the Revised Hardcopy of the College’s Operational Guidelines and duly sign the Parents/ students attestation form.
vi. STEP 6 - Security Exeat Card: All parents of newly admitted students who have submitted their passports to the exams & records office can pick up their clearance/Exeat cards at this unit. However, those who are yet to submit their passport can get it done at this unit.
Please note that the Security/ Exeat Clearance card is a prerequisite for subsequent entry into the college.
vii. STEP 7 - Hostel Clearance: All students must present their belongings for check before proceeding into the hostels. This is in a bid to prevent the influx of contraband items.
4. Security Clearance/Exeat Card
As a matter of policy particularly with respect to the safety students, all parents, most especially those who are new, will be required henceforth to present their security clearance/exeat card to designated officials of the college before such a parent/guardian can access his/her child/ward.
Parents who are yet to obtain their security clearance card from the school are enjoined to kindly forward to exams&record@taidobcollege.org or via Whatsapp 08105533560 a scanned passport of theirs that is well labelled (having the parent’s name together with the name and class of the child(ren)
and a named passport of any other person to whom such parent may wish to delegate the task of picking the ward in case of his/her absence, before the resumption date.
5. Hostel matters
Boarding students can begin to access their room and class allocations from their individual portal on the college website as from Thursday 15th, September, 2022.
It is mandatory that all boarding students have the college customized bed spread, bucket(s), pegs, hangers (with a minimum of six units) as those who do not possess these along with the other items contained in the list of boarding requirements will be denied entry into the hostels.
It is a must that every boarding student has a minimum deposit of N2,000 in his/her pocket money account as this shall constitute part of the requirements for hostel clearance. This policy is borne out of the need to ensure that students do notkeep physical cash exceeding N300 at any point in time so as to forestall possible cases of theft.
No personal belonging of students will be allowed into the hostels unless they are properly marked/labelled in the student’s name (wool-like material are to be embroidered while plastic and other non-wool-like material are to be engraved).Students are enjoined to have all their items marked properly from home for them to be cleared at the hostel unit.
Parents/Guardians are to carefully study the College’s list of prohibited items and ensure that their wards adhere strictly to the rule as any prohibited item found will be permanently confiscated before such student is severely dealt with.
It is important that boarding students are provided with at least seven units of 60 leaves exercise books to be used as jotters while studying.
Parents and guardians of both old and new students will be allowed to access the body of the hostels on the condition that such student has not more than two persons (father & mother alone or father or mother with any other relative)accompanying him/her into the hostel.
6. Non-statutory visit and dropping of items for students at the college gate with
Parents are enjoined to provide what can last the students until the Visiting Day when provisions can be replenished.
Only essential materials (e.g. textbooks, notebooks and water) will henceforth be entertained from parents at the College Security.
Post and such item must get to the point not later than 5:00pm.
Boarding students can only be visited on the days set aside in the academic calendar for that purpose. Parents are to take note that no visitation of any sort outside of the ones on the academic
calendar will be entertained.
7. Provision of textbooks and other relevant learning materials
Parents are implored to ensure they make adequate provision for textbooks (especially in Mathematics and English) and other materials (e.g. Mathematical set, Four figure table, calculator.
Dictionary, Calculator, etc.) which are meant to aid learning as no form of lending or borrowing will entertained.
Parents who still wish to get some of the recommended textbooks will be obliged magnanimously.
8. Medical
It is mandatory for all newly admitted students to have submitted their Form ME1 before the resumption date as students with incomplete medical registration/record will not be checked into either classrooms or hostels.
9. Revised TAIDOB COLLEGE Operational Guidelines for Parents/Guardians
and Students
A soft copy of the revised code of conduct has been made available on the college website for download and perusal of all parents ahead of resumption as every individual student together with his or her parent will need to collect and sign an attestation/declaration document accompanying the hard copy of the operational guidelines which will be given upon resumption.
10. Academic Calendar for the Term
it is important to bring to the knowledge of our parents the academic calendar for the term. Kindly visit www.taidobcollege.org, locate download and click academic calendar for updates.
11. Submission of GCE Preparatory Assessment Questions
Submission of the duly completed assessment questions uploaded for all SS 3 students will be part of the preconditions for entry into the hostels as no excuse shall be taken for default.
12. Broad Concept Int’l & Entrepreneurship Hub
All newly admitted students are expected to have filled and turned in their entrepreneurship interest form before the resumption date for appropriate placement.
All TAIDOB students must be part of the entrepreneurship programme at BROAD CONCEPT.
Students in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence are to note that the ?15,000 termly training fee is a precondition for access to the unit.
Students in Catering & Confectioneries are expected to pay the sum of ?4,000 as their termly practical fee.
All students must be armed with their training wear to access the entrepreneurship hub. Below is the cost implication of the training wear for the different units.
